Jessica Johnson is a dual-licensed LMFT Associate and LPC Associate. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marriage and Family Studies and earned her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Texas State University, with a specialized emphasis in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling.
Jessica grew up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., alongside a sibling with special needs. As a member of a military family and a witness to the complex dynamics of caregiving and service life, Jessica understands the nuanced challenges families face – especially those navigating roles of sacrifice, transition, and resilience.
In every session, Jessica leads with the core belief that every person holds innate worth and is deserving of full-respect living. She creates a space that is genuine, direct and compassionate, supporting clients to courageously face relational patterns and move toward deeper connection and healing. Working collaboratively, clients are invited into a relational perspective and given tools and guidance to resolve conflict and grow healthy communication.
Life transitions – whether planned or unexpected – can create emotional strain, uncertainty, and shifts in identity and relationships. Jessica supports individuals and couples navigating major changes such as career shifts, relocation, parenthood, separation, loss, or changes in family structure. She helps clients process these transitions thoughtfully, build emotional resilience, and develop clarity and confidence as they move into their next chapter.
When partners feel uncertain about the future of their relationship, discernment work offers a structured for reflection. Jessica works with individuals and couples to explore relational patterns, values, and emotional dynamics that influence decision-making. Through this process, clients gain deeper self-awareness, improve communication, and feel supported in making informed, thoughtful choices about whether -and how – to move forward.
Trauma can impact emotional regulation, relationships, and one’s sense of safety and connection. Jessica provides trauma-informed care that helps clients gently explore and process past experiences at a pace that feels supportive and empowering. This work supports clients in reducing the impact of trauma, strengthening emotional regulation, rebuilding trust in themselves and others, and fostering long-term healing and stability.
